Italian art abounds in images of saints – but how many of them do we recognise, and what were their stories?
The last resting places of the saints are often works of art in themselves – as are the burial places of many less-exalted Italians over the ages.
These themes will be illustrated by artworks, architecture and archaeology from three millennia.
