Nestled between the spectacular Apuane Alps and the Apenines is the the town of Barga. Once a significant cornerstone of the Medici silk empire, Barga now provides a destination for the discerning tourist, workers in the valley below and a nostalgic focal point for the many Italian emigrants now largely in Glasgow. Within this context we tell the story of rejuvenating an historic building the Italian way to create the arts centre which exists today.
